Ostracized, shuttered away
I yearn for companionship
I yearn for death
Spurned and alone
Curses fall from my mouth
Bitter confusion
I plead for your touch
One longing embrace
No longer silent
Once cast aside and degraded
I am judged unworthy
Love is destructive.
"What are dreams?"
-The only place I can find happiness
-The place where I go to escape reality
"Does it feel good?"
-Is it wrong to want to escape?
-I don't understand the things around me
"Do you understand me?"
-How could I understand you?
-You always remain ambivalent
"Do you love me?"
-Silence
"What is your hand for?"
-Nobody cares that I exist
-They can all die
"What is your heart for?"
-It would be better if I never existed
-Maybe I should die too
"Why are you here?"
-Is it okay for me to be here?
"Silence."
Reality exists somewhere we cannot know
Dreams exist somewhere within reality
Yet truth lies within one's heart
As long as you continue to live,
Any place can be heaven.
As long as you are alive,
There is a chance to find happiness.
The proof we were here burns for eternity
about
"||Death||Rebirth:||" is the second piece of a triple album. It is best listened to after its first companion piece, "SEELE", and before the final piece, "After That, and THE END". The three albums are tied together by musical and narrative themes, and while they are best listened to as a set, there are distinct differences between the albums; if you think you've heard everything new I have to offer because you've listened to "SEELE" and "After That, and THE END", think again.
While "SEELE" was released first, of the pair, this album was originally conceived first, and was recorded between January 2017 and January 2018 in my home studio. In addition to being a narrative companion to "SEELE," this album was designed as an audio companion for the 1997 Gainax Studios film "The End of Evangelion". To properly experience this album, please sync it up properly to the film. Feel free to enable subtitling (although I personally like it with only subtitles for text).
INSTRUCTIONS ON SYNCING ALBUM AUDIO TO FILM VIDEO:
1) Use a Region 1 DVD copy of "The End of Evangelion," preferably the Manga Entertainment release, or the timestamps may be incorrect. Timestamps will be given in an Hours:Minutes:Seconds+Frames format for most accurate placement. The Manga Entertainment release plays at 24 Frames Per Second (counting from 00 to 23).
2) Insert the DVD, and wait for the "A New Century Evangelion Theatrical Edition" kanji before the film starts, then begin playing track one, "エア: Air" (TIMESTAMP: 00:03:04+13)
3) There should be no wait time between playing track one "エア: Air" and track two "Love is Destructive" (TIMESTAMP: 00:19:34+22)
4) There will be some silence after track two "Love is Destructive", followed by the credits for the first half of the film. This is intended. Standby for the film to resume.
5) The film returns with a note from the director, thanking those involved in the production of the project, followed by a cross with a logo reading "The End of Evangelion". Track three "まごころを、君に: My Purest Heart for You" should begin playing at the end of this title card (TIMESTAMP: 00:48:34+02)
6) There will be some silence between track three "まごころを、君に: My Purest Heart for You" and track four "ONE MORE FINAL: I Need You". This is intended. Begin playing track four "ONE MORE FINAL: I Need You" at the exact moment that the track "Komm, süsser Tod" from the film's soundtrack would begin playing during the actual film (TIMESTAMP: 01:06:51+03)

This was a solid contender for my personal AOTY in 2019. I don't have enough good things to say about A Light Among Many. This project literally wouldn't exist without him, so check him out. Garmr
This that good shit. Frequent collaborator Alex Mahaffey on guitar, and the QC noiselord himself, Harrison Phillis on drums doing sludgy, doomy things. Don't miss out. Garmr
